Urgent walk-in X-ray service

We provide a walk-in service for urgent requests only at the following times:
Monday to Friday: 8am to 5.30pm

If the department is busy, you may be asked to return at a later time or be given an appointment.

Routine referrals

For all non-urgent imaging:

  • routine X-rays and scans will be reviewed and scheduled as an appointment
  • you will receive your appointment details via phone or letter

Information for GPs

We accept referrals for:

  • general radiology (plain film X-rays)
  • ultrasound scans (including dating scans)

To submit a referral:

  • use the ICE system

For early obstetric problem scan requests, refer to the Early Pregnancy Unit.

What happens if I can’t attend my walk-in appointment?

If you cannot attend the urgent walk-in service, we will contact you to arrange a suitable appointment.

How will I know my routine appointment date?

Routine imaging requests will be reviewed, and you’ll receive a letter or call with your appointment details.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring any relevant documents, referral forms, and a valid ID.
