We provide specialist orthopaedic surgery and care at King’s Elective Orthopaedic Centre, Orpington Hospital.

We carry out inpatient and day surgery. Our purpose-built centre has state-of-the-art operating theatres and a dedicated team of surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and therapists.

We offer a full range of orthopaedic surgery for a variety of conditions, including:

  • joint replacement
  • revision joint replacement
  • keyhole (arthroscopic) knee, ankle, and shoulder surgery
  • ligament and tendon repair

Outpatient clinics before and after surgery are held at either:

  • Orpington Hospital
  • Princess Royal University Hospital
  • King’s College Hospital

We aim to get you up and moving, ready to go home, as soon as possible after surgery. To do this, we build a care plan tailored to your specific needs, including support from physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Exercises before and after surgery: videos

Getting moving leading up to and immediately after surgery helps speed up recovery time. To help you with this, we have produced exercise videos for some of the surgical procedures we perform. We advise you do the basic exercises leading up to and immediately after your surgery.

Speak to a member of our Physiotherapy team if you have any questions about exercise before and after your operation.
