Sign up to MyChart
You will be invited to sign up to MyChart.
To create a MyChart account you will need an activation code. We might:
- send you a code in an appointment letter, text or email from us
- give you a code before or during your appointment
- give you a code at a check-in kiosk when you come for an appointment
If you are a parent or carer of a child or young person under 18, please speak to your child’s healthcare team at their next appointment to request a proxy account.
If you are aged 13 to 18, you’ll need to ask for an account at your next appointment.
Opening MyChart for the first time
You can use the MyChart app on your mobile, tablet or computer.
From your internet browser
Visit mychart.kch.nhs.uk or click here to open MyChart
Download the app
Download the MyChart app on your mobile or tablet using App Store or Google Play.
Open the app when the download is finished and select King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust from the list.
Completing your sign up
When you have opened MyChart, click ‘new user’ and enter your activation code. You will also need to add some personal details to confirm it’s you.
MyChart will ask if you want to set up two-step authentication. This is a security setting to keep your health record safe. It will check your contact details are right and ask you to set up a username and password. Choose something secure and memorable.
You will be asked if you want notifications sent to your phone and your email. Finally, you will need to read and sign the terms and conditions.
After this you should be logged in to MyChart.

MyChart is not for urgent problems or emergencies. If you have a serious medical problem and need help, call 999 or go to your nearest emergency department (A and E).
