Eating and drinking well is an important part of your recovery.

We will offer you:

  • breakfast
  • lunch
  • dinner
  • and three snacks a day.

This is unless you are not allowed to eat because of a test or surgery you are having.

Menus

Printed menus are readily available on the wards.

We have a range of menus to suit your dietary, cultural and religious needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and modified food options.

You are also welcome to bring your own food onto the ward. We are not able to store or heat your food, due to food hygiene regulations.

Outside of mealtimes

If you would like something to eat or drink outside of mealtimes, please ask a healthcare assistant, a nurse, or a volunteer, and they will be happy to help you.

Cold and hot drinks, including hot chocolate, decaffeinated tea and coffee, are always available.

We also offer out of hours meals if you have missed a meal due to surgery or a procedure. Please ask the team for the out of hours menu.

Help with eating

Our staff and volunteers will support you to eat your meals if you need this. We also welcome your family, carers or friends to support you with eating. Please let the nurse in charge know if someone is coming to help you with breakfast, because this is outside of our regular visiting hours.
